What conversion usually preserves

What conversion cannot recreate

• Original digitizing objects, shapes, or editable outlines that are not present in the stitch file
• Missing thread metadata or machine-specific features
• Good density, underlay, pull compensation, or sequencing when the source was poorly digitized
• A smaller hoop size without an actual resize and stitch recalculation

Choose the destination format from the machine manual

Safe conversion workflow

1. Keep an untouched copy of the original file.
2. Open it in reputable embroidery software that supports both formats.

Fonts need special care

BX is an Embrilliance installation format, not a machine format. A BX font must be installed and used to create lettering, then the finished word is saved as PES, JEF, EXP, VP3, DST, or another supported stitch format. Simply renaming a file extension never converts it.
