Stitch the placement line, place a piece of appliqué fabric over it, then stitch the tack-down line. Trim the excess fabric close to the seam, and finish with the cover stitches.

Stitches out great and is really cute . But there is no outline or tackdown stitch step for the applique. That made it awkward to know where to place the applique fabric. Maybe I missed something?!? In any event, I made it work.
