NOTE: Embroidering in 2 hooping steps

STEP 1 – EARS (First Hooping)
1. Load the Ears machine embroidery design. Choose the size suitable for your elephant project.
Read the file names carefully. The ear files have the same name as the elephant embroidery files, so they are easy to find in the folder.
2. Hoop tear-away stabilizer only. Attach the hoop to the machine.

3. Take two small pieces of fabric and lay them flat in the hoop.

4. Place the fabrics in the middle inside the hoop and stitch the seam included in the embroidery design.

It is helpful to use tape or pins to make sure the fabric stays flat while stitching.
6. When finished, remove the tape, unhoop, and gently tear away the excess stabilizer.
7. Cut out the shape.

8. Turn the elephant ears right side out and press gently with an iron.

STEP 2 – ELEPHANT (Second Hooping)
1. Load the elephant design.
2. Embroider the appliqué elements as usual:
- Fabric position seam: stop the machine, do not unhoop.
- Lay the fabric inside the stitched outline. Use tape to keep it flat if needed.
- Fabric tack-down seam: stop the machine, do not unhoop, and trim the appliqué shapes (Elephant stand color 1, Elephant stand color 2, Elephant body).

3. After all appliqué and embroidery parts are finished, there will be a head outline seam.

Stop the machine (do not unhoop) and place the prepared ears inside the marked shape.

Make a little fold on the ears. Use tape or pins to keep the ears flat while stitching.

4. Stitch the ears tack-down seam.

5. Stop the machine (do not unhoop) and place the face fabric inside the marked shape.

6. Stitch the face fabric tack-down seam. Stop the machine (do not unhoop) and trim the excess fabric.

7. There will also be a hat appliqué step – do not forget it :)

8. Attach the hoop back to the machine and continue stitching. The final step will be the satin stitch outline.
