The fringe will not release

Confirm that you cut the bobbin thread beneath the correct long satin column. A small missed section can keep the whole row attached. Lift and remove the bobbin thread gradually rather than pulling hard from the front.

The loops did not form

If the long top stitches were cut, you may get open-ended fringe instead of loops. This can still be fluffed, but it cannot be turned back into intact loops. On the next test, cut only the bobbin thread from the back.

I cannot see the bobbin thread

Use bright light and curved embroidery scissors. Check that the machine was threaded correctly and that you are looking at the designated fringe row. Do not loosen a bobbin-case screw without model-specific instructions; tension changes can affect the whole design.

The fringe looks flat

Gently work from the front with the closed tip of small scissors, a blunt tool, or a soft brush. Lift a little at a time. Do not scrape the garment or pull against the anchor stitches.

The fabric puckered

This usually points to hooping, stabilizer, needle, tension, or fabric mismatch rather than the fringe release itself. Stabilize the fabric before stitching and avoid stretching knits in the hoop.

I cut the wrong stitch
