The ricrac edge had to stay readable
This font started with a simple problem. I wanted that playful ricrac wave around each block letter, but I still needed the letters to read cleanly when stitched small. At 0.9 inch, a bumpy edge can turn muddy fast if the turns are too tight or the columns get too thin. So I kept redrawing the wave, softening some curves and tightening others, until the outline still looked lively without swallowing the inside of the letter.
The hardest part was consistency across four sizes. A shape that behaves well at 1.9 inches does not always behave the same way at 1 inch. I had to check how the wave sat on straight letters, round letters, and narrow lowercase shapes, then make sure the numbers and punctuation still belonged with the alphabet. Small sizes tell the truth.
I also made sure this set works as a real everyday font, not only a sample name. You get uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and punctuation, plus a BX file for easier keyboard entry in compatible software.
