The outline took the longest
The part that took me the longest here was not the letters themselves. It was the light bean stitch outline around each patterned shape. These letters are transparent with the pattern living inside the letterform, so the edge had to stay clear and clean without making the whole alphabet feel heavy. I kept working that line until it framed the bow, checks, ricrac, knit, and tree patterns without swallowing the little details.
That balance matters more in a set like this because there are five different looks in one bundle, and each pattern behaves a little differently inside the same letter shape. A checkered fill wants crisp corners. A knit look can start to feel busy fast. The tree pattern needed to read as Christmas at a glance, even in the smallest sizes. I wanted all five to feel related when you combine letters from different fonts, but still keep their own personality on the fabric.
