For the stitcher planning one good holiday piece
If you are standing at your machine with a holiday shirt, tote, or pillow in mind, this tree is made for that moment. I drew it as a full spruce shape, then built the fluffy look with large satin stitches that get cut from the back after embroidery is finished. That is what gives it the soft fringe all around the tree. The pompom garland sits right on top, so the finished design has shape first and texture right after.
The nice part is that you do not have to guess your way through the special finish. Stitch it out like usual, then turn the hoop over, cut the bobbin thread along the loose satin areas, turn it back, and fluff the fringe with your fingers. I include a PDF with the steps. It washes safely too.
I included five sizes, 5, 5.5, 7, 8, and 9 inches, because this kind of design needs room to fit the project instead of being forced smaller in software. If you are choosing between a sweatshirt front and a bigger bag panel, that matters.
