built for fluff

Why this Halloween set feels different

A lot of Halloween embroidery leans on flat fills and outline shapes. I took this set in a different direction with loose satin areas that turn into soft fringe after stitching, so the cat, ghost, and spider have a fuzzy edge instead of a plain one. That texture changes the whole look. It makes the designs feel playful and touchable, especially on kids and baby things where a simple spooky shape can use a little more life.

I also did not stop at one motif. You get bats, a single cat, a single ghost, a single spider, and an all-in-a-row design, so you can stitch one small accent or fill a wider space without trying to piece a layout together yourself.

The fringe is meant to be used, not just admired in a photo. After the stitching is done, you turn the hoop over, cut the bobbin thread along the large satin stitches, turn it back, and fluff the fringe up around the design. I put a special seam under that fringe so it holds through the wash. That matters on real items people handle, wash, and wear. Katie stitched out three frames and the single spider and said they all did great, and she called the fringe a fun, unique take on embroidery.

helpful shop answers
How many stitches are in this design?

The stitch counts I have for this set are 5,900 for the 4x4 size, 9,600 for the medium 5x7 size, and 11,600 for the larger 5x7 size. If you are matching a hoop and machine limit, those numbers are the ones to check first.

What materials do I need to stitch this project?

You can use any fabric for this set. I recommend a non-woven tear-away stabilizer.

Why can't I download this file?

Usually the download did not finish, or the ZIP file still needs to be unzipped before your machine or software can read it. This set is a digital instant download, so checking those two things first solves most problems.

My machine will not read the EXP files. Can you help?

Some Bernina machines do not work well with EXP and need ART files instead. If that is your setup, contact me and I can send ART by request.
