hoop side plan

For the stitcher picking a real Halloween project

If you are choosing a design for a kid shirt, a small tote, or a trick or treat piece, this one stays simple in the hoop but still gives you that soft fringed finish people want to touch. I made the cat, spider, and bat inside framed shapes, so the design reads clearly even at the smaller sizes. The extra texture does the work.

The fringe is done after stitching, not during some tricky machine step. You stitch the design as usual, turn the hoop over, cut the bobbin thread along the long satin stitches, then turn it back and fluff the fringe around. I also put a special seam under the fringe so it stays in place through washing.

That matters if this is going on something that will actually be used and washed, like a child's sweatshirt or pajama top in October. The included PDF walks you through the steps, and the same fringe method is shown in the short video link. One stitcher called it super cute and easy to do, which fits this design well.

How do the tassel ends come out?

After the design finishes stitching, turn the hoop over and cut the bobbin thread along the long satin stitches on the back. Then turn it back over and fluff the fringe around.

How does the machine know which colors to use? Is it just the thread I put in?

The machine follows the design's color order in the file. You choose the thread colors you want to load, and JPG thread color charts are included to help.

Can you send me the PES file for this design?

The PES file is already included in the download along with the other formats. If you do not see it right away, unzip the downloaded folder first.
