Getting a 3D bat bow to hold its shape

This bow had to do two jobs at once. I wanted it to read as a bat right away, but I also needed it to work as a real felt bow that could be clipped to hair, pinned as a brooch, or tied onto a package. That meant checking the wing shape, the center wrap, and the finished size in each hoop version so the bow still looked balanced after it was folded and assembled.

The dimensional part matters here. A flat bat can be cute, but this design needed enough body to feel like a bow once it came out of the hoop.

Before I was happy with it, I had to stitch the felt version and look closely at how the edges sat after turning and shaping. Small changes make a difference on projects like this. A point that is too sharp can fight the fold. A center section that is too wide can hide the bat look. I kept the project simple in the hoop and included a PDF with the directions, because this kind of design is most useful when you can stitch it, finish it, and put it straight onto a hairpin or brooch without guessing your next step.

quick buyer questions
Do you test your designs before selling them?

Yes. I stitch my designs myself, and the shop photos show the stitched result. For this bow, that matters because the shape and finished fold need to work off the hoop as well as inside it.

Are PES files included, and will they work with a Brother machine?

Yes, PES files are included in the download. Many Brother embroidery machines use PES, and you will need to unzip the folder before loading the files to your machine.

If I redownload my purchase, will I get updated files?

Yes. If a file is updated, downloading the ZIP file again from your purchase link gives you the updated design files.
