A freestanding lace bow with bat wings, for Halloween hair clips, headbands and costume accents.

The finished bow comes in three sizes: 3.5, 4 and 4.5 inches. The lace pieces are stitched on wash-away stabilizer, then joined with a few hand stitches in the center.

Freestanding lace! I recommend using Vilene or any other fabric-like water-soluble stabilizer (not the clear film type).
Simply hoop only the water-soluble stabilizer, stitch out the design, rinse away the stabilizer, and let it dry.
