Santa comes in three sizes: 1.5, 2 and 2.5 inches. He is stitched as freestanding lace on wash-away stabilizer, and his beard is fringe you cut and fluff for a soft, fuzzy look.

Freestanding lace! I recommend using Vilene or any other fabric-like water-soluble stabilizer (not the clear film type).
Simply hoop only the water-soluble stabilizer, stitch out the design, rinse away the stabilizer, and let it dry.
