One important note, some of the stuff (swirls) sew first then the number applique, i did so for best results of the design. Easy to follow

Stitch the placement line, place a piece of appliqué fabric over it, then stitch the tack-down line. Trim the excess fabric close to the seam, and finish with the cover stitches.
