A 3D patriotic butterfly with freestanding lace wings that lift off the fabric. Pretty on girls' 4th of July shirts, bags, towels and hair accessories.
The butterfly comes in three sizes: 1.5, 2 and 3 inches, plus a row of four butterflies about 7 inches long. The lace wings are stitched first, then placed on your item and held by the stitched body.

Freestanding lace! I recommend using Vilene or any other fabric-like water-soluble stabilizer (not the clear film type).
Simply hoop only the water-soluble stabilizer, stitch out the design, rinse away the stabilizer, and let it dry.
