Free-standing lace combined with fringe: stitched on wash-away stabilizer, then the long satin stitches are cut and fluffed up. Two small sizes, the largest about 3 inches long.

Freestanding lace! I recommend using Vilene or any other fabric-like water-soluble stabilizer (not the clear film type).
Simply hoop only the water-soluble stabilizer, stitch out the design, rinse away the stabilizer, and let it dry.
