What I had to test before this alphabet was ready
This alphabet had to look like hand stitching without turning into a heavy block of thread. That balance is the hard part. I had to redraw the letter shapes so the chain effect stayed readable in the small 1.4 inch size, but still looked open and clean when stitched larger at 2.7 inches. Curves matter most here, especially in rounded letters and punctuation, because one crowded section can change the whole look of a light font.
I also had to check that the style held together across the full set, not only on a few pretty sample letters. That means uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and punctuation all had to feel like they belonged together on the same project.
Fonts like this can shift fast if the stroke gets too dense or too thin, so I paid close attention to the chain look through the whole alphabet. A simple letter can stitch well right away, but an S, ampersand, or small punctuation mark usually tells me where I still need to redraw. The finished set includes four sizes, plus BX, so you can type names and words without placing each letter one at a time.
