Bag Tag in-the-hoop
Instructions

What are bag tags good for? Pretty much everything! Hang them on purses, zippers, or luggage. Use them as ornaments, banners, cord organizers, or labels. The beauty of a bag tag is that it can serve so many purposes - and sometimes it's simply there to make you smile.
For this project, you'll need a tear-away stabilizer, medium-weight or heavy-weight cotton fabric, and a bag charm clasp.
COLOR steps

Embroidering
1. Hoop the tear-away stabilizer only.
I’m using two layers of water-soluble Backing&Topping Stabilizer.

2. Stitch the placement stitch directly onto the stabilizer.

3. Lay your fabric piece right side up over the stitched shape. Make sure the entire shape is fully covered.
Use tape or pins to keep the fabric from shifting while you stitch.

4. Stitch the decorative elements and the monogram.

5. Take the hoop off the machine, but don't unhoop your project yet! The entire in-the-hoop design is completed in a single hooping.
Flip the hoop over to see the back side of your project.

6. Lay a second piece of fabric on the back side, making sure it completely covers the design.

7. Again, use tape or pins to keep this fabric from shifting while you stitch.

8. Stitch the outline to tack down the backing fabric.

9. Remove the tape or pins. Then trim the excess fabric around the shape, cutting close to the stitched seam. Sharp, curved scissors work really well for this step!

10. Flip the hoop back over and trim the excess fabric on the reverse side as well.

11. Place the hoop back on the machine and finish your project by stitching the final satin stitch outline.

12. Unhoop your project and remove the excess stabilizer.

13. Attach a bag charm clasp. I added some fun beads too!
Congratulations - you're done!
