Stitch the placement line, place a piece of appliqué fabric over it, then stitch the tack-down line. Trim the excess fabric close to the seam, and finish with the cover stitches.

I love how this stitched out! I stitched the trucks around the bottom of a tree skirt, and used different fabrics so every truck is different.
