I can't download my purchase, or I got the wrong file type

Short answer: Find the design in My Library at studio.artapli.com/library/ and click Download on its card. Choose your machine's format (PES, DST, JEF and so on), then click Download next to the size you want. For designs you get the machine file on its own, with no ZIP to open.

If you bought on Etsy, connect your Etsy order once first (see Use your Etsy order in Artapli Studio). After that your Etsy designs are in your Library too.

Steps

1. Open your Library and find the design

Go to studio.artapli.com/library/ and sign in with your artapli.shop account. Every design and font you own is listed here. Type part of the name into Search designs, fonts, formats… if the list is long.

On the design's card, click the pink Download button. The design's details open, with its photos, sizes and files.

2. Pick your machine's format

Under Sizes and embroidery details you'll see a row of format buttons: PES · DST · EXP · HUS · JEF · VP3 · XXX. Click the one your machine reads. Not sure which one that is? See Which embroidery format does my machine use?

Your Library remembers this choice in this browser, so next time you won't have to pick it again.

If a format button is greyed out, this design can't be made in that format. Point at the button to see why.

3. Download the size you'll stitch

Each size row shows its measurements, stitch count and number of thread colors. Click the pink download button on the size you want. The button shows which format you'll get. Here DST is selected, so each row's button says DST:

You get one machine file, such as Flower.dst, ready to copy to your USB stick. Beside it is a Color chart button, which downloads the thread colors for that size as a PDF.

4. Need everything at once? Open the full download list

In the open design, click Download under the picture to see all its files:

• Download complete package: one ZIP with every size and format, exactly as it was delivered.
• Choose a machine format: get just one format, with all its sizes and parts. If there's only one file, it starts downloading right away. If there are several, you choose them one by one from a list.
• Instructions: the PDF instructions, downloaded on their own.
• Individual embroidery sizes: one size at a time.

I don't know how to open a ZIP file

For designs you don't need to: use steps 2 and 3 above and you'll get the machine file on its own. Fonts still download as ZIP packages, because a font is many letter files in several sizes. Here's how to open one:

• Windows: right-click the ZIP and choose Extract All, then open the new folder.
• Mac: double-click the ZIP. A normal folder appears next to it.
• iPhone or iPad: open the Files app, find the ZIP in Downloads and tap it. A folder appears next to it.
• Android: open your Files app, tap the ZIP and choose Extract. The wording depends on your phone.

Copy the files from the unzipped folder to your USB stick, not the ZIP itself. Embroidery machines can't open a ZIP.

If something looks wrong

• "Your secure session expired. Sign in again, then retry the download." Click Sign in again, then download again. Sign-ins time out after a while for safety.
• "This one-time download was already used" or "…revoked or expired." Every download link works once. Click the download button again.
• The design is in my Library but Download is greyed out. A short note under the button explains why. It might say the files are still being checked, or ask you to write to us. Use Report a problem at the bottom of the Library page, or Contact support in your account panel (click the person button, top right).
• The listing said PES but I only got BX. BX is a file for the Embrilliance software, not for a machine. Your Library has the machine files: pick PES (or your format) and download. See BX fonts in Embrilliance or single letters.
• I see the Etsy email but no download link. Look for your files on Etsy's own Purchases page, or skip Etsy completely: connect the order in your Library and download from there.
• The purchase isn't in my Library at all. Check that you're signed in with the same email you used at checkout. For Etsy orders, connect the order number first.
• Nothing seems to happen when I click Download. Look at your browser's downloads list. Some browsers ask before saving. On a phone, check Files → Downloads.

I still can't download my purchase.

Go to studio.artapli.com/library/, sign in, and click Download on the design's card. If the button is grey, read the short note under it, or use Report a problem at the bottom of the Library page.

I see the email but no link to download.

You don't need the email link. Every purchase, Etsy ones included once the order is connected, is in your Library with its own download buttons.

Please send files in JEF unzipped, I don't know how to open zipped files.

In your Library, choose JEF in the format row and click Download on a size. You'll get one .jef file with no ZIP. Fonts still come as a ZIP. The article shows how to open one on a computer, iPhone or Android.

The description included PES, I only got BX.

BX is for the Embrilliance software. In your Library, choose PES and download the size you need.

Which size should I download?

The one that fits your hoop. Each row shows the real width × height, so compare it with your hoop's sewing field.

I downloaded the whole package, but my machine won't read it.

That's the ZIP. Unzip it first and copy only the machine files (for example .pes) to your USB stick.

It says the download was already used or expired.

Every download link works once, for safety. Click the download button again for a fresh one.
