Print your embroidery design at its real size

What's new, and why you'll love it

Print at real size has a new look and every option is easier to find. Turn on a center cross, add an inch or centimeter grid, choose how many designs fit one overview page (1 to 36), and save each design as its own true-size PDF. Every option has a ? that explains it, the page mock-ups show what you'll get, and try with a free design lets you test it without a file. Free, no account.

Short answer: open Print at real size (Apps → Print 100%), add your file or ZIP, pick your settings, then save PDF and print it at 100% with fit to page turned off. Measure the grid with a ruler before you trust it.

How to use it

1. Add a file or a ZIP

Go to artapli.shop/pages/print-my-design-at-100-scale. Drop your file or ZIP, click choose files, or press try with a free design.

It reads PES, VP3, XXX, DST, JEF, EXP and HUS files and ZIP folders.

2. Choose your settings

Under print settings:

  • Center crosshairs: Show center draws a cross through the middle of the design, to line it up with the center of your hoop.
  • Grid overlay: Inches or Centimeters adds a measuring grid.
  • Compact overview — cards per page: how many designs fit on one overview page.
  • Process format (for ZIP folders): which format to use when a ZIP holds several.

3. One page for each design

Every design gets its own card with its size and stitches, and preview opens its true-size page in a new tab.

4. Save the PDF and print

Click save PDF on a card for that design, or use Compact Overview (all designs, several per page) and Individual PDFs (one PDF per design) under Batch Download.

Print with Actual size or 100% and Fit to page off. Then measure one square of the grid with a ruler: if it's one inch, the print is right. Lay the paper on your item to see the size and position.

Good to know

  • If the preview tab doesn't open, allow pop-ups for artapli.shop, or use save PDF instead.
  • Bought it from Artapli? The Library's Print 100% scale gives the same page for every size, with no upload.

Questions people ask

Can I print a design I bought somewhere else?

Yes. Smart Print reads any PES, DST, JEF, VP3, EXP, HUS or XXX file. Only upload files you own or have permission to use.

Does it change my embroidery file?

No. It only reads the file to make a PDF. Your file stays exactly as it was.

How do I know the printout is really 100%?

Turn on the Inches or Centimeters grid, print with Actual size and Fit to page off, and measure one square with a ruler. It should be exactly 1 inch or 1 cm.

How do I find the center of the design on my fabric?

Choose ✚ Show Center before you upload. The red cross on the printout marks the center; push a pin through it into the fabric.

Can I print the colors in order for my machine?

Yes. Save Color Steps PDF shows each color stop in stitch order. Save 100% Scale PDF by Color Step gives one real-size page per color.

My design is bigger than the paper.

It prints on several sheets marked "Tile 1 of 2" and so on. Tape them together along the dashed overlap lines.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It's free, and you don't need to sign in.

I bought the design from Artapli. Do I still need this?

No. Open the design in your Library and use the Print 100% scale tab. No upload needed.
