How to Preserve Design Quality in Hatch Software

To ensure your designs stitch out exactly as intended, here’s a quick guide to prevent Wilcom Hatch from automatically converting your files upon import. Wilcom can convert files into outline objects, which removes important, built-in stitch settings. To avoid this, it’s essential to load the files as stitch files without automatic modifications.

Embroidery files are classified into categories such as native ‘design’ files (Grade A), imported outlines (Grade B), processed stitches (Grade C), or imported stitches (Grade D). To maintain the design’s original integrity, you should always import files as Grade D.

The key is to avoid letting the software automatically convert your files when you import them, as this is often what causes designs to stitch out incorrectly.

If you are using Hatch, please avoid resizing the design and disable the automatic design adjustments when importing files. The attached images show a comparison: one design was imported with automatic adjustments enabled, and the other was imported with this function turned off.

To find this option, go to the software settings in the upper menu. Select 'Software Settings' and then 'Embroidery Settings'. Ensure you choose the option to "leave the stitches as individual stitches, EMB grade D". Thank you!
