Stitching Instructions

Step 1: Stitch the Appliqué Fronts

Hoop a piece of felt fabric with a layer of tear-away stabilizer.

Attach the hoop to the machine and stitch the appliqués as usual. First, stitch the appliqué position seam, then stop the machine but do not unhoop your project. Lay the appliqué fabric right inside the shape and stitch the tack-down seam.

Appliqué fabric placed over the placement stitch.

Take the hoop out of the machine, but do not unhoop, and carefully trim the excess appliqué fabric.

Continue this process for all the appliqué shapes on the front piece.

All appliqué pieces stitched and trimmed.

Step 2: Add the Backing

Before the final step, you will attach the backing fabric. I am sorry, I am using photos from another project, but they are clearer and show the same process.

Take the hoop out of the machine, but do not unhoop.

The embroidery hoop removed from the machine.

Turn the hoop over to see the back side of the project.

Attach the lining/facing fabric to the back of the hoop.

Please ensure there is plenty of excess fabric around the perimeter. I am securing the lining with tape or pins.

The backing felt taped securely in place.

Step 3: Finish the Tiles

Return the hoop to the machine and stitch the final outline seams (the boxes) to tack down the lining.

The final outline stitches completed, creating the individual game tiles.

Unhoop the project and carefully cut out the individual game tiles along the stitched lines.
